Julie M. "Nina" Bertanzetti, 90, Cresson, died Wednesday at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, Pittsburgh.
She was born in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Szurek) Novak.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mary Grodes of Cresson; nieces and nephews: Nancy (Dick) Yanosky, Dennis (Marianne) Rozanski, Elaine (Karl) Yodzevicis, Joyce (Rick) Olshavsky, Becky (Orville) Shehan, John "Yunk" Rozansky, David Rozansky, Dan "OJ" (Dana) Novak, Paul (Cindy) Rozansky, Julie Novak, Joe (Connie) Novak, Sue (Brian) Delozier, Alan (Robin) Novak and Ron Novak; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and many nieces and nephews of the Bertanzetti family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. "Mickey," on June 16, 1985; and five siblings: Frank, Stanley, Mary Kozak, Josephine Rozansky and John.
Julie was the former owner of The Beer House, Cresson, and Gallitzin Beverage. She was a former member of Our Lady of Czestochowa (St. Mary) Catholic Church and St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be concelebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin, the Rev. Albert Ledoux and Monsignor Bernard Przybocki as celebrants. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
