Camilla D. Hoenstine, 81, East Freedom, died unexpectedly Monday evening at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in East Freedom, daughter of the late William O. and Emma (Dively) Walter. She married Philip L. Hoenstine on April 10, 1952, in Winchester, Va., and he died in 1955.
Surviving are two grandsons: Benjamin M. Hoenstine and wife, Maureen, of East Freedom and Dave Lantz and wife, Charlotte, of Newry; six great-grandchildren: Noah Hoenstine, Lyx Ilgenfritz, Jackson Ilgenfritz and Jordan, Kelsey and Hailey Lantz; and a brother-in-law, Joe Long of Duncansville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Hoenstine; and a sister, Aldine (Walter) Long.
Camilla was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and retired from the Spring Cove School District. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening and cross-stitching.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Greenfield United Church of Christ by Pastors Phillip Waite and Ryan Miller. Interment will be made in Greenfield Cemetery.
