Nancy J. Krug, 76, Ebensburg, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Spangler, daughter of the late George Stanley and Elizabeth "Betty" (Sward) Lubert.
Surviving are two siblings: Carol (Jack) McMurray of Altoona and George A. (Kathy Kalis) Lubert of Patton: nieces and nephews: Erin A. McMurray, Kristin A. Li, Renee Lubert, George J. Lubert and Michael A. Lubert; a great-niece, Autumn E. Li; several cousins; and her precious cat, Lucky.
Nancy also had several wonderful caregivers in her home during the past three years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis C. Krug, on Oct. 30, 2013; and her lovely niece, Cynthia Lubert.
Nancy was president of her 1956 Hastings-Elder High School graduation class and was first employed as a secretary and radio announcer at WNCC Radio, Barnesboro, where she hosted her "Nancy's Polka Beat" every Sunday. Nancy and her husband bought WEND Radio Station in Ebensburg and then opened their business, Telecom Electronics, in Ebensburg.
She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, where she and her late husband were pleased to be able to donate the lights that illuminate the church steeple and to donate their favorite saints' statues, St. Benedict and St. Scholastica, that grace the front entrance of the church.
Friends will be received from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral Mass Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, the Rev. Jude W. Brady, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, or the Arthritis Foundation.
