Kudos to Bruce Seiler for his recent letter protesting reassessment.
He was most succinct regarding the burden placed on property owners when reassessment is conducted.
I found it interesting the Altoona Mirror chose to highlight a quote from one of the authors of the report, Dominic Gambino.
He stated, "It's like paying your earned income tax on your 1958 salary."
He inadvertently hit the nail on the head; it should be based on individual income tax. The reasons for this were so exactly and appropriately outlined by Seiler.
When even a professional property evaluator, Gambino, recognizes that it should be compared to income tax, why should we not follow his quoted statement?
