SHERRI M. HOSKINS
Navy Reserve Lt. Cmdr. Sherri M. Hoskins helped to provide free medical care to residents of rural Louisiana during exercise Cajun Care, Feb. 25 to March 6.
Approximately 120 Navy and Air National Guard medical professionals provided medical, dental and optometry care to area residents of Abbeville, La. More than 2,000 people received care there, where the military set up in a former nursing home.
A Department of Defense-sponsored program called Innovative Readiness Training, Cajun Care is designed to provide U.S. military medical professionals valuable training, as well as provide health care options to a medically underserved community.
Hoskins is a healthcare administrator assigned to the Bethesda Headquarters, Bethesda, Md., and has 14 years of military service.
Hoskins is the wife of Robert Hoskins of Point of Rocks, Md., and the mother of Charity and Ethan Hoskins. She is the daughter of Janet and Victor Meckes of Altoona.
She graduated in 2002 from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C., with a master in health administration degree.
