Angelina "Angie" DeLeo, 83, Altoona, passed away peacefully Wednesday at her home.
She was born in Camden, N.J., daughter of John B. and Josephine (Scaglione) Cernivivo.
Surviving are three daughters: Roberta DeLeo of Westbrook, Conn., Mary Jo Griffith and husband, Walter, of Wilkes-Barre and Angela Martz and husband, Darius, of Roaring Spring; five grandchildren: Lisa and husband, Shawn, Jessica and husband, Jeremy, Tyson, Bethany and Bryan; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, David Hollen and wife, Bonnie; and a foster brother, George D. Barry.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rose Hollen.
Angie was the owner/operator of Angie's Beauty Shop in Altoona for many years. She was also the personal cook for the priests at the rectories of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellwood, for many years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, March 28, 2014, at Anthony P. Scaglione Funeral Home, 1908 Seventh Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
