Nick Leasure, 95, Tyrone, died Friday at his residence.
He was born in Baltimore, Md., son of William Eratuse and Amy Pearl (Clouse) Leasure. He married Vera Marie Wengert on July 2, 1938; she died on Aug. 31, 1997.
Surviving are three children: Connie F. Wood (Jerry) of Shrewsbury, Pa., Peggy L. Adams (Ronald C.) of Tyrone and Dr. Nick C. Leasure (Veronica) of Pottstown; a longtime friend and companion, Bonnie P. Owens; seven grandchildren: Kevin L. Wood (Patti) of High Point, N.C., T. Irene Wood of Wyomissing, Stephen P. Turchetta (Marie) of Altoona, Andrew S. Turchetta of Roaring Spring, Nicholas Leasure in New York, Michael T. Leasure, attending University of Pittsburgh and Emilie, at home in Pottstown; two step grandchildren: Tiffany and Justin Warner; three great-grandchildren: Mitchell I. King, Sean P. Turchetta and Liam A. Turchetta; three step great-grandchildren: Corbin, Mackenzie and Baley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Phyllis Parks, Thelma Rupert, Violet Bigely and Yolanda Anders; and a brother, Leroy Cropiet. He was the last of his immediate family.
Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, and from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, with the Rev. Jason Guillaume officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park, with the Tyrone Honor Guard participating.
