Dr. Sarah Schroeder has been named director of the Pennsylvania Vein and Laser Institute, the new division of Central Pennsylvania Cardiology.
Schroeder is an experienced phlebologist dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of venous disorders, having performed more than a thousand vein procedures. She is a member of the American College of Phlebology and is certified by the Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
Awards and honors
Vicki Bilka, wedding invitation consultant for JV Print Solutions of Altoona, has received a Carlson Craft excellence award for 2013. It was presented by the nation's leading wholesale printing company for sales achievement and service to their customers.
Bilka has produced wedding invitations for central Pennsylvania brides for 10 years.
Gottfried Fodor of Bellefonte, an employee of Fullington Trailways, was recently presented the Trailways Outstanding Driver of the Year Award - Charter & Tour Division during the 78th annual Trailways stockholder meeting and conference in Florida.
Fodor, who has been with the company since 1982, drove 51,855 miles in 2013 accident-free. He was nominated for the award by Michael Fullington, vice president and chief operations officer of Fullington Trailways.
Juli Dull of Bedford has been named a "Million Dollar Producer" by Coldwell Banker SKS Realty.
Dull, who is also an account executive at Reed, Wertz & Roadman Insurance in Bedford, is a graduate of Bedford Area High School and the University of Pittsburgh.
Kathy Seymore of Coldwell Banker Town & Country Real Estate, Altoona, has earned membership into the International Diamond Society for 2013.
Membership is awarded to the top 9 percent of the 82,000 agents in the company's 3,100 offices worldwide, based on sales volume.
Course completions and certifications
Dr. Corey Schutt of Elite Orthopedics, an affiliate of UPMC Altoona, is now board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
The purpose of the certification examination is to provide the public with a way to identify physicians who have met a standard to ensure competent performance in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. John W. Hoyt, an intensivist at UPMC Altoona, recently received the honor of master fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine in January in San Francisco.
Nominees for the honor are selected by their peers and must have distinguished themselves by achieving national and international professional prominence and years of exemplary service to the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the field of critical care medicine.
Sheran Springer, office manager and estate paralegal at Evey Black Attorneys in Hollidaysburg, recently achieved recertification as a Certified Administrative Professional -Office Management.
