Edna Deloris Ritchey, 73, East Freedom, died Thursday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.
She was born in Robinson Creek, Ky., daughter of the late John and Alpha (Buchannan) Stewart. She married Douglas M. Ritchey on May 16, 1957 in Altoona.
Surviving are her husband; three children: Douglas and Rhonda Ritchey of Roaring Spring, Victor Ritchey and Rob Haycock, who is loved like one of their sons, of Boonton, N.J., and Stewart and Janice Ritchey of East Freedom; five grandchildren: Michael Ritchey, Sarah Lewis, Ron Beasom, Archie Ritchey and Judy Mosby; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Patrick and wife, Debbie, Stewart of Kansas City, Mo., three sisters: Janis Shomo of Tyrone, Janice and Bill Foster of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Debbie and Steve Watson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Wynema Decker, Flora Neal, Julie Ritchey, all of Altoona, Carol Ritchey and Sherry Robeson of East Freedom and Gale and Spenser Clapper of Lakemont; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tina Marie Ritchey; and five brothers.
Edna was a graduate of Cresson High School and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, East Freedom. She loved being very active in her church, traveling and spending time with her family.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the immediate family and Edna's church family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edna's memory may be given to St. Paul's Ladies Aide. Arrangements are by the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.
