Olive J. Johnson, 95, Tyrone, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Spring Township, Centre County, daughter of the late Harold M. and Rosetta (Neff) Lyons. She married Earl M. Johnson on Nov. 11, 1939, and he died July 30, 2000.
Surviving are four children: Malcolm H. (Barbara) of Aurora, Colo., Sandra J. Michaels (Chester) of Newark, Del., and Robert L. (D. Jane) and Ronald E. (Josette), both of Tyrone; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth L. Mooney; and a sister, Ethel Lyons Briggs.
Olive was a 1937 graduate of Tyrone High School. She was a member of the former The Church of Tyrone, and she was a homemaker and served a brief time with the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed crocheting, making afghans, and family get-togethers.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone, where a funeral service for family and extended family will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
