After a beautiful and full life, Cecilia "Elsie" Creek, 86, peacefully breathed her soul away into our Savior's arms Monday at her Hollidaysburg residence.
She was born in Ellsworth, daughter of the late James and Mae (Mahoney) McNulty.
A strong-willed, devoted and loving mother and wife, Elsie's spirit lives on in her surviving relatives, including two sons: William and Harry; three daughters: Linda, Donna and Elsie; and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
She has now made her way home to join those who have preceded her in death, including a son, Ronald John; and her divine complement, her husband, Charles William Creek.
Elsie spent her time always reaching high for her dreams while holding out her other hand to help anyone who would ask. Since 1974, she had served as the co-founder, owner and inspiration of Central Pennsylvania's Finest, The Eldolyn Terrace Restaurant and Banquet Facility, Altoona.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Father Carl A. Spishak. Committal will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg. All are invited to join a condolence gathering at her beloved lifework, The Eldolyn Terrace, to follow.
