Fay Eleanor Baer, 95, Waverly, N.Y., died March 11, 2014.
She was born in Roaring Spring, the third of six children born to the late Webster and Annie Patterson.
Surviving are two children: Deanna Curry and husband, Richard, of Boothwyn and Walter III and wife, Delecia, of Spencer, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember her as a loving, optimistic, energetic and remarkable woman.
Fay graduated from Roaring Spring High School in 1936 and was married to the late Walter G. Baer Jr. of Altoona in April 1937. She was a member of the Garden Heights Evangelical United Brethren Church of Altoona for many years and also later and more currently the Calvary Baptist Church of Altoona. She was an active participant in many endeavors throughout her life, from farm work as a child, to domestic work and retail as a teen, to child care and retail and church as an adult.
Fay loved the Lord and was devoted to the loves of her life: her children, her family and most of all, her husband.
Friends will be received from 1 until the 3 p.m. memorial service Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
