Clarence R. Carper Jr., 68, of Mount Joy died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 14, 2014.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Clarence R. Sr. and Eileen (Coover) Carper. He was the husband of Debra Meminger Carper.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Pamela, wife of Dale Frye of Tyrone; a son, Clarence R. "Charlie" Carper III and his fiancee, Tiffany Myers, of Columbia; five grandchildren: Josh, Kate, Regan, Brandon and Maurice; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna, wife of Robert Bratton of Tyrone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Elmer "Dutch" Carper and George Coover.
Clarence was a carpenter for Wickersham Construction & Engineering for 20 years before retiring in 2010.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy doing three tours of duty from 1968 to 1974.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
