Helen Sue Lowther, 88, Altoona, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Golden Living Center-Hillview.
Helen was born in Altoona, the beloved daughter of Albert James and Helen Sue (Bosley) Lowther.
Helen is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Mabel K. Baird of Royal Oak, Mich,. and Mrs. Nancy A. Stoner (William) of Altoona; nieces: Mrs. Helen Sue Strong (Randall) of Royal Oak, Mich.; Dr. Susan A. Stoner of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Sherri K. McClellan (Paul) of Tucson, Ariz.; a nephew, Albert R. Stoner of Charlotte, N.C.; a grand-niece; five grand-nephews; cousins; and a special friend, Mrs. Betty George.
She was a 1943 graduate of Altoona High School.
Helen was of the Baptist faith.
She worked in various capacities for Sylvania Electronic Tubes in Altoona, retiring from its successor firm, Philips ECG after 35 years of service. While employed at Sylvania in 1944, she was awarded a Navy E. Commendation for war work.
She loved her family, classic movies and the stars of the silver screen.
There will be no visitation. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
