Donna E. (Henchey) Murtif, 78, formerly of Altoona, passed away Monday at ManorCare Health Services-York South.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late W. Robert and Dorothy M. (Lightner) Henchey. She married William C. Murtif on May 28, 1955, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters: Vicki Murtif Park and husband, Edward, of Memphis, Tenn., and Cindy J. Herbert and husband, Duane, of Airville; four granddaughters: Ellen "Ellie" Park, Rebecca Park, Larissa Herbert and Emily Herbert; a sister, Doris Buchanan of Altoona; three brothers: Thomas Henchey of York, Richard Henchey in West Virginia and William Henchey of Altoona; a family member, Sally Bretz; and several nieces and nephews.
Donna was employed in retail sales for the former Jordan's Furniture Store and the former Singer Brothers TV and Appliances. She retired from Tooling Dynamics as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, York. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, and everyone enjoyed her sense of humor. She enjoyed painting and was an accomplished local artist.
A graveside service will be held at noon Friday, March 7, 2014, at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona. Officiating will be her pastor, Greg Wahlberg.
