Mrs. Blanche M. Gathagan, 92, Glasgow, died Sunday at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.
She was born in Ansonville, a daughter of the late Nelson E. and Irene L. (Reed) Irwin. On Oct. 31, 1940, in Cumberland, Md., she married William P. Gathagan, who died April 12, 2007.
Surviving are a son, Nelson Gene, and his wife, Gail, of Knoxville, Tenn.; and a daughter, Gail M. McClellan, and her husband, David, of Glasgow; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a brother, R.J., in New York.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry; a daughter, Rita Fink; two brothers: Bruce and Danny; and two sisters: Lorene Hullihen and Kendra Mann.
Blanche had worked as a beautician, enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her dog Zoey.
She had attended Hollentown Assembly of God.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Joe Hollen officiating. Interment will be in Fruit Hill Cemetery, Ansonville.
