Richard J. DiNicola, 66, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of Alesio and Pauline (DePiro) DiNicola.
Surviving are his girlfriend, Sandy Kensinger of Altoona; her daughters: Karen and Lori Kensinger; his godson, Tyler Kensinger; a brother, Stephen and wife, Vicki, of Roaring Spring; a niece, Anita Moore of Dallas, Texas; an aunt, Mary DiNicola; and many cousins.
Richard worked at Sky Brothers Inc. for 20 years as a truck driver and then for various trucking companies. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, and he also belonged to the Buccinese Society, Cesare Battisti Club and Bavarian Aid Society.
He enjoyed playing bocce, riding his Harley-Davidson and spending time with his brother. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, especially at King's Restaurant having coffee.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
