Geraldine M. Green, 86, Altoona, died Monday morning at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Oliver M. and Edna M. (Carner) Kensinger. She married William M. Green on Sept. 7, 1946, in Altoona, and he preceded her in death Jan. 9, 1981.
Surviving are two children: Deborah Henshey and husband, Ken, of Bellwood and William K. of Hollidaysburg; two grandchildren: Rebecca and William; and a great-grandchild, Hunter Alexander.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.
Geraldine was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School. She formerly had been employed as assistant to the Director of Volunteers at Mercy Hospital for seven years, where she was a member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.
Geraldine was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona, where she belonged to the Win-A-Chum Sunday school class. She was also a volunteer at the Van Zandt VA Medical Center and Bon Secours Hospital.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m., the Rev. Paula Schmitt officiating. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
