Kenneth Michael "Mike" Knott, Ph.D., 72, Mill Hall, died Wednesday at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Kenneth and Martha Knott.
Surviving are two children: Kathy Asche (Mike) of Milton and Kurt (Abby) of Darien, Conn.; six grandchildren: Derek, Lauren, Olivia, Vivian, Quinton and Lydia; his partner, Brenda Johnson and her family; and his former wife, Frances Knott and her partner, Rodger Cook.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia McCord.
Mike graduated from Altoona High School and received a bachelor's degree from Mansfield University, a master's degree from Bucknell University and a Ph.D. in education from The University of Pennsylvania. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He spent his career at Montoursville Area School District working as a teacher, assistant principal and curriculum coordinator until his retirement in 2003.
After retirement, Mike owned and operated a small pizza and sandwich shop in Lock Haven and most recently owned numerous rental properties in the same town. He enjoyed golfing, going to Penn State football games with his friends and family and spending time with his grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at the family's convenience.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the SPCA.
