If it wasn't for our unions in this great country, our working conditions would be comparative to those in China, Indonesia, Mexico and so forth.
We need to support the employees of Penelec as best we can.
Fortunately for my wife and I, our electric provider is Valley Rural Electric, which is comprised of great people.
I am thankful that I am not sending money to Penelec that would be contributing to pay the ridiculously high salaries and benefits to the very managers and CEO that are trying to cheat their employees out of the benefits that they contractually already paid for.
Some of the 150-plus Penelec employees that are locked out and/or some of the scabs that are replacing the UWUA workers, could be in eastern Pennsylvania helping to restore the power that was lost from the storm at the beginning of the month. Also, we need to support the fantastic nurses at UPMC Altoona.
If Penelec wishes to respond, please include the salaries and benefits, including retirement money and benefits of the upper level managers, including the CEO of First Energy.
