William H. Grassmyer, 71, Juniata, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning at UPMC Altoona.
Known as Billy G., he was born in Altoona, son of the late Harold W. and Ruth Hetty (Smith) Grassmyer. He was twice married, first to Linda Reed, who preceded him in death in April 2000. He then married Louanne C. Mock.
Surviving are his wife; three sons: Scott and family of Sarasota, Fla., Kevin M. and family of Juniata and Chad and family of Millersburg; five grandchildren; three stepchildren: Devon Wagner and family of Altoona, Sam Wagner and family in Idaho and Laura Beland and family in New York; and a sister, Susan Hill of Escondido, Calif.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nadya Brown, in November 2013.
Billy G. retired as a driver for the Blair County Association for the Blind after more than 25 years of service. His hobbies included camping, and he was a very active member of the Home Association of the Bernard Albert Good VFW Post, Juniata.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Pastor George Sanders officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
