Eleanor M. Weyandt, 77, Claysburg, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg.
She was born in Claysburg, daughter of the late Herman and Mary E. (Helsel) Weyandt. She married Larry P. "Sonny" Weyandt Sr. on Jan. 11, 1956, in Cumberland, Md.
Surviving are her husband; three sons: Larry P. "Chub" Jr. and wife, Holly, and Ronnie and wife, Karen, all of Claysburg, and Scotty and wife, Melanie, of Imler; Dennis "Whitey" Weyandt, who was like a son and was raised in her home, and wife, Kae, and their family; six grandchildren: Angie Long and husband, Roger, Eleanor Granville and husband, Lance, Ronnie Weyandt and wife, Leslie, Rebecca Ebersole and husband, Daniel, Lauren Weyandt and Tyler Weyandt; four great-grandchildren: Lance Jr. and Preston Granville, Maddie Long and Landon Weyandt; and a brother, Leonard Weyandt.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry "Jake"; and two brothers: Donald Moses and Kenneth Weyandt.
Eleanor was a 1954 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and was employed in the office of various livestock auctions in the area. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Claysburg. She enjoyed playing the piano and harmonica, cooking and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 480 Emmanuel Drive, Claysburg, Pastors Erik Lingenfelter and Elwood Pfaunmiller officiating. Interment will be at Upper Claar Cemetery.
