Donald L. "Skeets" Smith, 79, Duncansville, died Sunday evening at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Cross Keys, son of the late Raymond H. and Carie Elizabeth (Franklin) Smith.
Surviving are his wife, Renna R. (Edmundson); two children: Kathleen Lower (Ron) of Hollidaysburg and Thomas (Jan) of Duncansville; three stepchildren: John Edmundson (Janet) of Canoe Creek, Richard Edmundson (Penny) in North Carolina and Neil Edmundson (Amanda) of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren: Christy, Tracy and Chance; two great-granddaughters: Allyssa and Gianna; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by three sisters: Leniva Hazenstab of Dry Run and Judy Miller and Pauline Eger, both of Carson Valley; two brothers: Traford "Tap" of Donnertown and Daniel "Hoon" of Duncansville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Theresa Jean (Murphy); and five brothers: Vian, Harry, Raymond Jr. "Mick," Terry "Ears" and Clayton "Boog."
Skeets attended Hollidaysburg High School. He was a former truck driver for Boyd Trucking, then retired from Fisher Auto Parts. He enjoyed motorcycles and his cars and loved going to car shows.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, and 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home Inc., 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville, Pastor Walt Smith officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Allegheny Township Volunteer Fire Company, Station 50.
