Martha K. McCoy Fissel, 71, Hollidaysburg, went to be with the Lord Friday at Homewood at Martinsburg.
Known as Marty, she was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Eugene Allen and Pauline Agnes (Elder) Smeal. She was married three times, first to John McCoy, who died in 1994, then to Benjamin Williams, who died in 2002. She then married John M. Fissel on Jan. 8, 2005.
Surviving are her husband; four sons: John and wife, Lisa, of Lititz and Bryan, Eric and wife, Lori, and Ian and wife, Heather, all of Duncansville; 13 grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Patricia P. Bode of Berlin, Germany; a step-grandson; and two sisters: Jacqueline Abram in New York and Nancy Hollingsworth in California.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Stewart; and a daughter-in-law, Ualani McCoy.
Marty was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of Puzzletown Bible Church, Newry, and was a former member of Grace Brethren Church, Juniata, where she was active in the senior church group, Primetimers, and in church missions.
Marty enjoyed painting, sewing and knitting but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, and 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at Puzzletown Bible Church, Pastor Jon Gross officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
