Frances M. Dively, 87, a resident at The Winds at Mattern Orchard, Duncansville, formerly of Graystone Court, Roaring Spring, died Monday morning at the Winds under the care of AseraCare Hospice.
She was born in East Freedom, daughter of the late Hannah Yingling. She married Charles W. Dively on March 22, 1952, in Newry, and he died March 3, 2010.
Surviving are three children: Ronald L. and wife, Betty, of Altoona, Cindy Hamm and husband, Don, of Roaring Spring and Donna Rhodes and husband, Scott, of Duncansville; six grandchildren: Tim Wassell, Lindsay Gahagan, Jennifer Hamm, Brittany Dively, Kristina Hamm and Jarrod Wassell; and five great-grandchildren: Noah, Nicholas, Carsen, Mackenzie and Kailyn.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Dennis Paul.
Frances was a 1944 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and a former employee of Sylvania and Saf-T-Bak. She was a member of Roaring Spring Mennonite Church and had previously been a member of Leamersville Church of the Brethren, where she had served as a deaconess and was in the Golden Rule Sunday school class.
Frances loved playing cards and bingo and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Roaring Spring Mennonite Church, Pastors Elsie Gonsman and Richard Hamer officiating. Interment will be made in Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
