Matthew J. "Sto" Stolarski, 25, New Enterprise, passed away Friday at home. He was born in Bedford, son of Walter and Nancy (Nolan) Stolarski.
Surviving are his parents of New Enterprise; a brother, Joshua and wife, Victoria, of Bellefonte and their son and Matt's godson, Jayce; a sister, Rebecca of New Enterprise and her boyfriend, Philip Miller; grandparents: Florence Stockhausen of Mercer and Walter C. and Angeline of Pittsburgh; an aunt and godmother, Beth Bittner and husband, Dean; five aunts: Joanie Pettigrew and husband, Randy, Nancy Werner and husband, Bruce, Caroline Safranek and husband, Todd, Kathy Hale and Janet Nolan; two uncles: William Nolan and wife, Grazyna, and Carl Nolan and families; and his godfather, Anthony Battaglia and wife, Diane.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Stockhausen; and an uncle, Martin Nolan.
Matt was a 2006 graduate of Northern Bedford High School and a 2012 graduate of Penn State University with a B.A. in marketing. He was employed as an industrial welding equipment salesman with Rockmount Nassau of Vancouver, Wash.
Matt was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Everett. He enjoyed art, soccer, hacky sack, golf and music and was the front man for the band Horse Drawn Death Machine.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, 810 Bedford Street, Claysburg. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 161 E. First Ave., Everett, with Father Derek Fairman officiating. Interment will be made at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
