Joseph F. Lamont, 87, Altoona, died Friday at his residence. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph F. Sr. and Elizabeth (Manganello) Lamont. He married Mary Anne Gallagher on May 11, 1950, in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters: Kathleen Lamont of Altoona, Linda Kempling (Bruce) of Quadra Island, B.C., Canada, Mary Anne Rawlings (Steven) of Hollidaysburg and Lisa Dew (Thomas) of Downingtown; seven grandchildren: Darry Monteith (Tyrone), Laura Kempling, Carly and Chelsea Rawlings, Ryan, Colin and Madison Dew; a great granddaughter, Amelia Monteith, and a sister, Rita Maier of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Regina Stango.
Joseph was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Valley Forge Military Academy. He served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. Joseph retired as the owner/operator of Roxy Beverage Co. Inc.
Joseph was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He spent many years building and flying model airplanes, and especially enjoyed working in his yard.
At Joseph's request, there will be no visitation. A private service will be held. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
