Catherine "Kay" Roberts, 86, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Lewis) Rock. She married Carmen Roberts on July 9, 1949.
Surviving are two daughters: Beth Onkst (Edward) and Lynne McDonald (Terry), both of Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren: Aaron (Kristina) Onkst, Drew and Dustin Onkst and Dalton and Alyse McDonald; and four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Hudson, Isabella and Andie McKenna Onkst.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Nedimyer; and a brother, James Rock.
Kay was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School, and she had worked as a salesclerk at the Book and Record Shop and the General Nutrition Center at the Logan Valley Mall. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
Kay enjoyed reading and volunteering at the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library, Altoona Hospital and Blair Senior Services. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by Father Anthony Legarski. Committal will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
