S. JoAnne Oakes, 78, Roaring Spring, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday morning.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Decker) Mowery.
Surviving are a daughter, Pamela A. Marconi and husband, Mark, of Martinsburg; a son, Mark Raugh and wife, Cindy, of Lexington, Ky.; and four grandchildren: Bradley Marconi and wife, Ashley, and their son, Drake, Drew Marconi and wife, Mandy, and their children, Andrew and Addyson, Alexis Raugh and Haley Caudell.
JoAnne was a 1953 graduate of Roaring Spring High School, where she enjoyed coordinating her class functions and reunions over the last 25 years. She retired from Blair Press/News Printing Co. and had previously worked at Nason Hospital in the office. She attended Clappertown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
JoAnne loved serving her Lord, her Bible studies, her home, her family and family gatherings, cooking and baking.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Clappertown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church by Pastor Vaughn Kagany. Interment will be made in Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
