Christopher Charles Amerine, 44, Altoona, went to be with the Lord Sunday after a sudden medical emergency.
He was born in Altoona, son of Charles T. and Joan (Martino) Amerine.
Surviving are his wife, Autumn L. (Jones), with whom he shared 26 years together with 16 years happily married; a daughter, Marissa "Pistol"; a son, Marcus "Big Poppa"; his parents; a sister, Lisa Dietzal; a brother, Marc; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Tracie.
Chris was a 1987 graduate of Altoona Area High School and earned an associate degree from Penn State University in liberal arts. He was a 2011 graduate of the Johnstown Regional Police Academy, class 79, and worked as a police officer for the Altoona Area School District as well as the Tyrone Borough Police Department. He was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Chris was a devoted son, husband and father who loved his family. He was an avid Penn State fan, basketball player and golfer. He also enjoyed working in the clubhouse at Park Hills Country Club. He was a dog lover and will be missed by his bulldog, Boss.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Friends will also be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
