Deborah Jean Nicodemus, 55, of Osterburg went to be with the Lord Saturday after a battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas Dick and Jennie Zelda (Baker) Hetrick-Dick. On April 21, 1984, she married Kurt Nicodemus.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Kurt Nicodemus of Osterburg; a son, Matthew Nicodemus and companion, Danielle, of Osterburg; a daughter, Melissa, and husband, Luis Mejia, of Sproul; sisters: Patricia Decker and husband, Calvin, of Roaring Spring, Helen Knisely and husband, Ed, of Claysburg, and Annabelle Clark and husband, Bob, of Claysburg; and eight grandchildren: Gavin, Keynna, Dean, Carlos, Maria, Guisella, Stephanie and Robbie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Phyllis Hetrick and Thelma Kennedy.
Deborah was a 1976 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 29 years and her family.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Claysburg Bible Church. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Claysburg Bible Church, with Pastor Keith Showalter officiating. Interment will be at the Imler Cemetery.
