Walter Wesley "Bud" Williams, 90, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday at home after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Indiana, Pa., son of the late John and Dorothy (Bowers) Williams.
Surviving are his wife, Betty J. (Houck); two daughters: Angela (Bill) Ryan and Wendy (George) Diehl; two sons: Craig (Sharon) Thompson and Roderick Thompson; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ethel Burket and Eloise Carpentar; and a brother, Donald L.
He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Bud served in the U.S. Army Reserve and Army Air Force, and he was awarded the American Theater Ribbon and WWII Victory Medal. He had been employed as a foreman with Krentzman & Son, Hollidaysburg, and also with the Altoona Mirror for 10 years. He was of the Protestant faith.
Bud was a member of the American Legion Post 424, Bellwood, for six years and the Disabled American Veterans since 1987. He loved to watch Westerns and NASCAR.
At the request of the family, there will be no service. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
