Doris L. (Stiffler) Gearhart, 82, formerly of Turkey Valley, Hollidaysburg, died Tuesday morning at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in East Loop, Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Orville and Mary (McNulty) Stiffler. She married Sheldon F. Gearhart on July 28, 1949, in Hollidaysburg, and he died June 8, 2006, after having shared nearly 57 years of marriage.
Surviving are three children: Jane Stiffler and husband, Bob, Mary Ciaverella and husband, Larry, and Thomas S. and wife, Amy, all of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren: Thomas S. II and wife, Sadie, Shelly Spagnolia and husband, Ed, and Sara and fiance, Jeff; and three great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Colton and Savannah.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons: Nicholas and Jordan; a daughter-in-law, Sherry; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family of seven children.
Doris was a 1949 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and was co-owner with her husband of Gearhart's Dairy Farm, Turkey Valley. She was a member of Geeseytown Lutheran Church, and she enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, milking cows and gardening.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, the Rev. Michael Rhyne officiating. Interment will be at Presbyterian Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
Memorials may be given to Geeseytown Lutheran Church.
