Suzanne Alice (Free) Crooks, 67, McKean, died Monday at her home after a long-term illness.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, one of three children of the late Ernest Ralph "Ernie" and Evelyn Lucille "Dolly" (Myers) Free.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Orrin Crooks; two sons: Cory Richard Crooks and wife, Erica (Hedderick), of Moon Township and their children, James and David, and Kevin Ernest Crooks and Angela Donnell of Meadville; a brother, Ernest "Doc" Free and wife, Sally (Reindollar), of Wilkes-Barre; a sister, Evelyn "Bunny" (Free) McDowell and husband, Bill, of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.
Suzanne received her high school education in Hollidaysburg. She worked at various offices, including Wolf Furniture, A&P and Sears, all in Altoona, before moving to McKean in 1981. She always looked forward to family gatherings near Altoona and Hollidaysburg.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie St., Edinboro.
