David C. "Uncle D" Weaver, 55, Altoona, died Saturday afternoon at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Bernard L. and Alberta M. (Inlow) Weaver. He married Suzanne M. Hoover on May 12, 2007, in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Amy of Altoona; two stepdaughters: Suzette Logan of Gallitzin and Jessica Rabuck of Altoona; five grandchildren; four siblings: James D. of Altoona, Bernard D. "Barney" of Pittsburgh, and Linda Martz and Theresa Logan, both of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
David was a 1977 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was employed as a custodian at Altoona City Hall with 30 years of service. He was a past member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona.
David enjoyed playing video games with his grandchildren and the company of his dogs, Buffy and Susie. He was an avid Steelers and Penn State football fan.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, and Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, where a Funeral Service Outside of Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Monsignor Robert C. Mazur officiating. Committal Rites will be held at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
