When Christians show their disdain for gays, I think of the old song: "The Bible Told Me So."
Christians believe everything in the Bible is true and should be obeyed. This includes the Ten Commandments.
But Christians pick and choose what parts of the Bible they want to obey.
The Bible says only God has the right to judge us. Yet Christians ignore that and judge gays, even from the pulpit.
The Bible says rebellious and disobedient children should be stoned by their parents. How many of you would do that?
Slavery is condoned in the Bible. Maybe that is why southern Christians felt they could have slaves.
The Bible also says women should be subservient to men, meaning women were put here to serve men, which includes having children. All you Christian men who believe that, look at your wives and say: "From now on, you're going to serve me."
Many Christians say homosexuality is a sin and marriage is between a man and a woman only, because the Bible says so.
Can anyone tell us what the Bible says about people who beat, torture, sexually abuse and murder children, and what should be done to them?
Before you say "I know what God said and wants," remember this: One hundred years after Christ died for us on the cross, men got together and decided what would be and not be, in the Bible. Ever wonder what the world would be like if women wrote the Bible?
We all judge others we don't like. Some spread rumors and outright lies about others. Before we judge others, we should think of this.
How many of us could put our hand on a Bible and swear to God that you live like a Christian, the way God intended you do?
One day we will all be judged by God, and we will have no excuses for what we have done or said.
