An Altoona woman stabbed a man in a domestic dispute early Wednesday, police said, sending the alleged victim to UPMC Altoona for surgery and prompting an attempted murder charge.
Police said a child called 911 about 12:40 a.m. from 312 S. Fifth St. as Claudette Leigh Williams, 29, fought with a man in her house. Officers described the argument as a "domestic disturbance involving a knife."
Altoona police said they arrived at the home to find the man stabbed in his stomach. AMED workers drove the man, who was not named in reports, to UPMC Altoona for surgery to repair perforated intestines.
Officers arrested Williams and charged her with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault and other charges. She remains in Blair County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
