Huff takes third
HARMONY - Hollidaysburg and Northern Bedford had five placewinners apiece in the Southmoreland Holiday Tournament.
The Golden Tigers were led by Damian Huff, who took third at 113, losing to Jefferson-Morgan's eventual champion and tournament Outstanding Wrestler Brendan Howard, 5-1, in the semifinals, but coming back with a 5-2 win over Greenville's Jase Paxton and a 6-4 win over Trinity's Tristan Buxton in the third-place finals.
Hollidaysburg's Sam Baronner (106) finished sixth, while Mark Kociola (126), Dalton Long (132) and Hunter Gill (285) finished seventh.
Northern Bedford's was led by Chase Ott, who came back through the consolations to take fourth at 285. Teammate Jared Helsley (126) took fifth, Mason Guyer (182) was sixth, Trey Childers (113) placed seventh and Chris Eichelberger (160) finished eighth.
The Black Panthers finished in eighth place in the team standings with 109 points, while Hollidaysburg was 10th with 96. Butler and Greenville tied for the team title with 166 points.

3 place at Powerade
CANONSBURG - Altoona's D.J. Hollingshead (152) and Chestnut Ridge's Austin Buttry (285) lost to rugged foes in the semifinals of the Powerade Tournament, but they both fought back to finish third.
Hollingshead was dropped into the consolations with an 18-6 loss to Franklin Regional's returning PIAA third-placer Josh Shields. The Mountain Lion junior rebounded with a 5-0 win over Benton's Dom Vitale - his second win over Vitale in the tournament - and a 3-1 victory over Latrobe's Jake Shaffer in the third-place finals.
Buttry was pinned by Solanco's three-time state champion Thomas Haines in 3:37 in the semifinals, but the Ridge senior came back with a 3-2 win over Ohio's Derek Brumley to reach the third-place finals, where he earned a 2-1 overtime tiebreaker victory over Huntingdon, W. Va.'s Nigale Cabell.
It was Buttry's second tournament win over beat Cabel, who beat Burrell's returning Southwest Regional champion Alan Beattie, 3-1, in the consolation semifinals.
Altoona'a Cole Manley, a freshman, pinned Kennard-Dale's Andrew Barnett in 1:19 in the seventh-place finals at 106.
Bunnell earns third
SHILLINGTON - Moshannon Valley had two placewinners in the Governor Mifflin Tournament in Jack Bunnell, who was third at 285, and Ryan Thomas, who was sixth at 138.
Bunnell dropped a 3-1 overtime decision to Dover's Cameron Beckman in the semifinals, but he came back with a 6-2 decision over Hershey's Garry Reyes and a 7-3 decision over Brandywine Heights' Colin Conrad in the third-place finals.
The Black Knights finished 20th in the 24-team tournament with 66 points. Southern Regional won the team title by 53 points over Garden Spot, 221.5-168.5.
Gray finishes second
LANCASTER - Philipsburg-Osceola had two placewinners at the Conestoga Valley Tournament in 220-pounder Nick Gray, who finished second, and 182-pounder Bub Lumadue, who took fifth.
Gray was pinned in the finals by Mechanicsburg's Lucas Chesnut in 1:45.
The Mounties finished in 12th place in the team standings with 98 points.
