Earnest L. Kelley, 85, Altoona, died Wednesday at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late John Sr. and Gertrude (Buck) Kelley. He married Patricia L. Dull on July 4, 1950, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2002.
Surviving are two sons: William E. at home and Earnest P. (Judie) of Bellwood; four daughters: Karen L. Parisi (William), Kathie L. Kroft, Sharon A. Proulx and Mary-Ellen Cruse (Matthew), all of Altoona; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sarah Burket of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Jake, Jim, Don and John; and three sisters: Mid, Edna and Carrie.
Earnest was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired as a machinist from SKF. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Sacred Heart Society.
Earnest was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in Stevens Memorial Chapel by Father Ronald Osinski. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
