I'd like to thank Sharon Cook for her wonderful commentary on "Smile, it's Christmas."
I have often wondered what happened to civility and politeness. Did I forget to mention manners? Where did that go? I speak to people and some don't even turn around to answer me.
Go sit in a fast-food restaurant and notice how many people are deeply imbedded into their cellphones. That has replaced the English everyday language of socialization. So sad.
And sending a simple thank-you note has gone the way of email/texting.
Cook's letter indeed made me smile. A very Merry Christmas to her and her family and to all the "smilers" out there.
