Louis E. Green, 86, Altoona, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Wilbert Leo and Livina (Mort) Green. He married S. Jeanne Gioiosa on Dec. 9, 1950.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years; four children: Terry of Altoona, Trudy Morning (Jim) of Altoona, Daniel (Susan) of Hollidaysburg and Lou Ann of Altoona; three grandchildren: Terry, Danny and Randy Green; two great-grandchildren: Koty and Kyle Green; two sisters: Jean Pavlovich in Georgia and Maxine Cover of Altoona; four special nieces: Holly Spatafora, Francine Zarcone, Linda and Bernice; as well as other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Roy and Earl; and a grandson, Adam Patrick Morning.
Louis served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an aviation mechanic third class. He retired as a truck driver from Ward Trucking Co. with 40 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and the Bavarian Aid Society and a life member of the Juniata VFW and Swiss Rifle Club.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Santella Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. Committal will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
