Domenick W. Lestochi, 64, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Altoona, son of Domenic and Josephine (Modico) Lestochi. He married Robin McCracken on Sept. 8, 1984.
Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Robin; a daughter, Christine of Altoona; a sister, Frances Lestochi-Caracciolo of Altoona; a brother Louis J. (Donna) of Allentown; two nephews: Christopher (Tracy) and Mark (Nichole); three nieces: Ann Marie, Jennifer Caracciolo Anderson (Rob) and Danielle Caracciolo; and four grandnephews Anthony, Domenic, Cory and Joseph.
Domenick was a 1967 graduate of Altoona High School and attended Penn State University, Robert Morris College and the University of Maryland. He retired from Altoona Hospital as a mental health worker with 30 years of service.
He was a member of Cesare Battisti Club, where he served as vice president and council member.
Domenick was a NASCAR and Steelers fan. He enjoyed discussing politics, watching television, listening to oldies music, photography and military history, especially WWII. He loved telling stories and cracking a joke.
He was a loving husband and father. Domenick knew that family was important and especially enjoyed being surrounded by family. He was devoted to his faith and believed in the power of prayer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
