Charles C. "Charlie" Cymbor, 95, Patton, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Patton, son of the late Clement and Catherine (Parkas) Cymbor. He married Isabel Booterbaugh on July 31, 1949.
Surviving are his wife; a son, David (Kathleen) of Midlothian, Va.; a daughter, Susan (Ted) Farrell of Patton; two grandchildren: Charles E. Cymbor and Amanda Farrell; two great-grandchildren: Luke and Benjamin Cymbor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Blanche Clifford, Julia Sutherland and Marie Pribahilow; and six brothers: Thomas, Ted, Martin, Stanley, John "Silver" and Raymond. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Charlie was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of the Patton Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1244, the Slovak Club and Order Sons of Italy in America. He enjoyed watching sports on TV.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the funeral home by the Rev. Joseph Fleming. Committal will be at Fairview Cemetery, Patton.
