Elisabeth Maria Kotala, 90, Altoona, died Monday at home of a stroke.
She was born in Menne, Germany, daughter of Josef and Josefine Humburg. She married Stanislaw Kotala, and he died Jan. 6, 1996.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Stan Kotala and wife, Alice; a granddaughter, Helena Kotala; and a sister, Mia Berendes of Noerde, Germany.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Anton, Josef and Herbert; and a sister, Hedwig.
Elisabeth had been employed as a seamstress and attended the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. She was the director of the Juniata Valley Audubon Society, and she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening and cooking.
Friends will be received from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Monsignor Robert C. Mazur officiating.
