Lewis L. Miller Jr., 87, passed away Dec. 4, 2013, at home in Linden, Va.
He was born in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife, Charmaine (McGuire); three children: Dennis Lewis of Centreville, Va., Russell Warren of Charlottesville, Va., and Pauline Miller Dent of Clifton, Va.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Betty Lightner of Hollidaysburg and JoAnn Niswonger of Chula Vista, Calif.
Lew joined the U.S. Navy and was a WWII veteran. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and later owned Miller's Variety Store in Juniata, and he finished his career as a licensed insurance agent before retiring and moving to Virginia to be closer to his children.
Lew enjoyed coaching baseball for the Altoona youth, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Riggles Gap Beagle Club and Pennington Hunt Club.
He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
