Nancy E. Lane, 93, Altoona, died Saturday at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Roy and Viola J. (Long) Olson. She was married to William S. Lane, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Holly J. Hooper and husband, Gary W. Sr., of Altoona; four grandchildren: Norman P. Kough of Altoona, whom she raised, Gary W. Hooper Jr. of Altoona, John Wolf of Penn Hills and Tracy Hoover in Virginia; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a very good friend, Carol Weld.
She was preceded in death by a son, Norman R. Kough; and a granddaughter, Kelly J. Duvall.
Nancy was a 1938 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from Family Services Inc., where she worked in a group home. She was a member of Altoona Bible Church. She enjoyed reading, dancing and animals and was a foster grandmother.
A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family.
The family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601, in her memory.
