Michael W. "Mick" French, 66, Duncansville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening at his residence.
He was born in Altoona, son of Louis Bert Jack and Georgetta M. "Sis" (Ringler) French. He married Marie Ritchey in Winchester, Va., and she died June 4, 2004.
Surviving are three stepdaughters: Brenda Anderson of Bellwood, Louann McCready of Hollidaysburg and Gretchen Dick of Hollidaysburg; eight grandchildren; a special great-granddaughter, Zoe; three brothers: George of Martinsburg, Donald of Duncansville and Daniel of Hollidaysburg; and three sisters: Margaret Smith of Collegeville, Kathy Blazer of Hollidaysburg and Susan Klesyk of Hollidaysburg.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Georgetta Holland and Violet Eckenrode; and three brothers: Charles, James and David.
Mick was a delivery man for Keystone Auto Parts, Newry. He enjoyed working on cars and was a NASCAR fan.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 5, 2013, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, by Pastor Mark Rhodes. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Claysburg.
