Elmer R. "Pete" Feathers, 80, Hollidaysburg, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday evening at his home.
He was born in Sproul, son of the late Elmer and Emma (Seymour) Feathers. He married Vera Mae Smith on Sept. 12, 1951, in Cumberland, Md.
Surviving are his wife, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage; two daughters: Sherry L. and Crystal Mitchell; four sons: Bryan E., Larry W., Rodney S. and Troy D. Sr.; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Sarah Corle, Margaret Berkheimer and Ruby Imler; three brothers: Frank, John and Sam; and numerous other loved ones.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane McCabe, in 1988.
Pete attended Claysburg-Kimmel High School. He retired after 42 years at Bethlehem Steel as an overhead crane operator. He worked eight years as a truck driver for Techno Link after retirement.
Pete was a member of Grace Bible Church, Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed spending time with his family, lawn care, landscaping and hunting.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Grace Bible Church, 164 Laurel Lane, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be given to Hope of Life Operation Baby Rescue via Grace Bible Church.
