Joan W. Redenberger, 83, died Nov. 8, 2013, at Homewood at Martinsburg.
She was born in Windber, daughter of the late Cecil and Thelma (Yeager) Weaver. She married Charles E. Redenberger on June 5, 1951, in Warm Springs, Va.
Surviving are a brother, L. Thomas Weaver of Denver, Colo.; and a nephew, Jonathan A. Weaver, also of Denver.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald L. Weaver.
Joan was a 1948 graduate of Windber High School. She attended Juniata College for three years and Penn State University for a year. She was employed as a medical assistant for Dr. Charles I. Stoner for 17 years and retired from Abbey Home Health Care in 1992 after 10 years of service. She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.
Joan was a former treasurer of the Altoona Symphony League and past president of the Blair County Chapter of the American Association of Medical Assistants. She was also a member of the church choir and former director of the bell choir at St. James Lutheran Church, Altoona. She started the chapel choir at Homewood and served as director for eight years, and she was a member of the religious life committee.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the Homewood at Martinsburg chapel with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homewood Chapel.
