Ronald P. Miller, 83, Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 2421 Fifth Ave., Altoona, died Wednesday at the center.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Daniel and Anna (Burtnette) Miller. He married Clara Dorothy Stoltz on Jan. 7, 1956, at St. Leo Catholic Church, and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2005.
Surviving are four children: David E. of Altoona, Scott R. (Belinda) of Hermitage, Tenn., Allen P. (Regina) of Omaha, Neb., and Karen M. Harris (Donald) of York Springs; and seven grandchildren: Miranda Jackson, Lily Anne Miller, Megan and Morgan Miller and Erica, Robert and Stacy Harris.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John J. "Jack"; and a sister, Kathleen Kirk.
Ronald was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School and retired as a school bus driver from Bellwood-Antis School District. He had previously worked at Proctor Silex. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Ronald enjoyed woodworking, shooting pool and bowling. He was a member of the Concordia and Moose.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 22, 2013, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park.
